Chris Rice (not the URC Modeling manager at GEICO) has a song on his Amusing album called “I See the Moon”. It’s a song about a song- an old lullaby his mom used to sing about missing far away loved ones. His paraphrase chorus is
I see the moon, the moon sees me.
The moon sees the one that I want to see.
God bless the moon, and God bless me,
And God bless the one I’m longing to see.
That is, seeing the same moon can be a connecting point for friends around the world – “over the mountains, over the sea” as the original lullaby puts it.
As you follow this blog, it’s my hope that we stay connected. I want to share my experiences and impressions of South Asia, but I also want to hear your impressions and the things going on in your life. Please post comments. I have to approve them before they will appear on the site, so if you want something to be private, just say so in the comment and I’ll keep it hidden.
Also, please take a moment to look at the moon, wherever you are.
I love it! Your heading is absolutely perfect! And, you have a cool blog roll. :-) I guess this means I need to finally update my blog roll. Love ya!
Hey Bill,
How are the first days doing you? You got a card in the mail yesterday. The card was open – the cash gift was mising – hope you have a wonderful day…

Hey Wild Bill :),
We had our first Summer Metro Group tonight. All the Starting Point people (except Chris P.) joined the one led by David Goochee and Charity. I am their assistant. Rick even joined the group, but he was not there tonight. We had so much fun. In typical Starting Point fashion everyone was joking each other and laughing a lot. We managed to stay on topic though :) Ebony mentioned you tonight and shared that it meant a lot to her that you knew your Bible well and that you were smart. We finished our last Starting Point two weeks ago- it was bittersweet. They all seem really connected still. We are going out to dinner and to Tina’s artomatic show as a group Saturday night. We will look at the moon and think of you! Hope you and Katie are having a blast. We miss you! Love in Christ, Julie
